Met de Historic 250 in het vooruitzicht is het belangrijk om te weten dat iedere racewagen met gesloten wielen, of het nu een toerwagen, GT of prototype is, reglementair voorzien moet zijn van goed werkende verlichting aan de voor- en achterzijde. Aan de achterzijde moet bovendien een FIA goedgekeurd regenlicht gemonteerd zijn. Wanneer bij het oprijden het bord "lights on" wordt getoond, is dat het sein om de lampen in te schakelen. Aan de voorzijde dient de verlichting bij voorkeur de bestaande koplampen te omvatten. Stadslichtjes worden NIET geaccepteerd als afdoende verlichting aan de voorzijde. Heb je dus een racewagen met klapkoplampen, zoals een MX-5 of een 944 en wil of kun je de bestaande koplampen niet inschakelen, dan zul je voor twee alternatieve lichtbronnen moeten zorgen. Goede, kleine led-lampen zijn gemakkelijk verkrijgbaar, simpel te monteren en niet duur. Dus no excuses, zorg dat je de lampen voor elkaar hebt, we gaan hier bij de technische keuring op letten.
